Maze Racer Championship

Maze Racer

Maze Racer

Today at Gadget HQ, we’ve been testing the Maze Racer, an emotional tale of one silver ball bearing and his quest to get from one side of the maze to the other. Bravely venturing through such terrifyingly-named places as Snake Mountain, Dark Forest and Pitfall Valley, little Gregory (as we’ve affectionately named him) undertakes a great journey in one of the most truly addictive and frustrating gadgets we’ve ever had in stock. As always, a game like this made the Gadgets workers competitive, and we arranged the first ever Official Gadgets.co.uk Maze Racer World Championship Of Awesome.

First off, I took the plunge and tried to guide Gregory around this incredible world. As usual, I was woefully inadequate (incidentally, that was my nickname in secondary school) and my attempt was a complete failure. Gregory’s inaugral journey ended with him stuck between the 3rd and 4th obstacles. The odds of me winning were decidedly small.

Did I say small? I meant nonexistent. 1 minute 24 seconds after starting, Sam took Gregory to the end of the road, leaving me weeping in the gutter with only Mandy standing between him and the World championship.

Could she prevent Sam running away with the title? Erm… no. Although she beat me by a considerable distance, 1 minute 24 seconds remained the incredibly impressive winning time from Sam. In post-match analysis, Gregory said that Sam just “wanted it that little bit more”.

Final Table:

3rd: Murray: 05:00 Failed – Last seen between Red Roundabout and Whirlwind Mountain.

2nd: Mandy: 05:00 Failed – Last seen in Pitfall Valley.

1st: Samuel: 01:24 – Success. Victory. The World Champion Of Maze Racer.
